HW Dental capstone analysis
I believe data is most powerful when it tells a story that moves people to act. With a background spanning investment operations, business development, and academic research, I've spent my career sitting at the intersection of complex information and the humans who need to understand it — translating numbers into narratives that drive real decisions.
Whether I'm reconciling financial ledgers across a global wealth management platform, building Power BI dashboards for institutional stakeholders, or running SQL queries against large academic datasets, I hold myself to the same standard — the insight has to be usable, not just accurate.
Now pursuing my MS in Business/Data Analytics at Franklin University, I'm focused on deepening my expertise in predictive modeling and data strategy, with the goal of joining a data-driven organization where I can shape how teams understand their own performance and make smarter, faster decisions.
I don't just analyze data. I advocate for it.

HW Dental Group
Patient Acquisition Analytics Across Multi-Branch Dental Practice
The Data Journey
Problem
HW Dental was experiencing rapid growth across multiple branches but lacked clear visibility into which marketing channels, patient segments, and geographic areas were most effectively driving new patient acquisition.
Data
A dataset of 4,546 new patients across four branches, including demographic, insurance, referral source, and geographic information — providing a comprehensive view of acquisition patterns at scale.
Journey
Data was cleaned, standardized, and enriched through feature engineering — including age grouping, Medicaid indicators, and referral categorization — then subjected to exploratory and comparative analysis across branches, channels, and segments.
Solution
Targeted recommendations were developed to optimize marketing channel allocation, improve outreach to key populations, and concentrate resources on high-potential geographic areas identified in the analysis.
Problem Statement
Despite rapid multi-branch expansion, HW Dental had no unified framework to evaluate which marketing investments were generating patient growth — creating the risk of budget inefficiency and missed acquisition opportunities in key demographic segments.
Analytical Approach
Applied ETL workflows to clean and standardize raw intake data, then engineered features such as age bands, Medicaid eligibility flags, and referral channel groupings to enable meaningful cross-branch comparisons and segment-level analysis.
Key Findings
Identified which referral channels delivered the highest-value patient segments, uncovered geographic clusters with untapped acquisition potential, and revealed insurance-based disparities in patient distribution across branch locations.
Impact & Recommendations
Delivered actionable channel allocation strategies, population-specific outreach recommendations, and a geographic focus map — enabling HW Dental to pursue sustainable, data-driven growth across all four locations.
